Serious Wireless router problems!!
Ok, I got tired of all my chords, so i went and bought a wireless router, card and adapter(xbox, which doesn't matter yet).......I bought a Linksys WRT150N wireless router and a Linksys WMP300N adapter card....I installed the card first, it said everything was installed properly and then i hooked the router up to my modem and i couldn't get the internet....put the Easy Link Advisor cd that it comes with in and it wouldn't install all the wait because it couldn't find internet connection......but it says that everything is connected and working and i'm really lost and confused and if I uninstall everything I can hook my modem straight to the cpu again and it works perfectly....if anyone has had this problem or could try to help me, I would really appreciate it, thanks in advance.

Re: Serious Wireless router problems!!
First off, you need to start with a wired connection to the router for configuration.
Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on.
When the computer is completely booted, let's see this. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Serious Wireless router problems!!
Do you have a connection now? You appear to be connected to the router with both the wired and wireless connection.

Re: Serious Wireless router problems!!
Remember that when you change the attached device on the modem, you MUST power cycle it.
Since that machine has a good wired and wireless connection to the router, I think you're looking in the wrong place. From that machine, put 192.168.1.1 in the IE address bar and enter the router's setup. Look at the WAN status and see if it's connected to the modem. Post a screen shot if you can: To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to TSG, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

Re: Serious Wireless router problems!!
Run this Speakeasy Speed Test and post the results. Also, try it with the computer connected directly to the modem without the router in the picture. Post both results.
