Router ramblings
Hello there, not the most computer literate so you may have to bear with me a bit
Since i have bought a new router my internet connection has started cutting out momentarily every 15 seconds or so. Usually it wouldnt be a problem but i have started getting into internet games and it is really infuriating to the extent that if it carries on much longer i may not be held responsible for my actions. I think it may be worth mentioning that when my modem is plugged straight into my computer it works no problem. Heres some technical info: the router im using is a Belkin 54g Wireless Cable/DSL Router and my internet connection is 2mb or 2 of whatever the unit is. Im not sure my computer spec is relevent as it was doing this when i was still using my old pc (lazyness aside) so ill just say that im using vista. Thanks a lot for reading and a big preemptive ty Last edited by tonyharrison; 01-03-2008 at 12:51 PM. |

Re: Router ramblings
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.
Make and exact model of the broadband modem. Make and exact model of the router. Connection type, wired or wireless. If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2) Make/model of your computer. Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc. Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages. On any problem computer, I'd also like to see this: Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
