How to configure router and a Storage Gateway

Hye,

Can someone please help me? I think my question is not difficult for someone that knows networking but from the info I find on the net I can not get the network running.

I have a DSL router and a wireless router, 3 pc's running XP and 1 PC running Vista. That is all working, but now I want to add a FSG-3 Storage gateway to my network and that is where the problems begin. IP conflicts, lost connectivity to the internet, specially on the Vista machine, instable connections etc etc. Can some one help me with sort of a basic lay out for this kind of a network? I think I have to play with IP ranges etc etc, default gateways and more but I realy do not see the light at the end of the tunnel...

I want to be able to access the storage gateway through my network and possibly also available over the internet from other places as well.

Hope that someone can help me. Thnx in advance.

How are your IPs set up? Or they a static IP or are do they automatically get one when they are turned on?

Re: How to configure router and a Storage Gateway

In the DSL router (192.168.1.254) I gave the FSG a fixed IP (192.168.1.65) and I gave my Vista PC a fixed IP, just to test) The rest is variable.

Re: How to configure router and a Storage Gateway

Make sure the FSG IP address is outside the DHCP address pool of the router. If you do that, you shouldn't run into address conflicts.
