Having issues with network connection settings

Ok I'll try to keep the drama to a mininum. I am 20 years old and am currently saving money for college/university/whatever by living with my parents.

However as of late my parents have decided to have the network connection programmed to shut off at the same time each night.

They had a fellow from Shaw come in to program everything to act accordingly. However they had him make it so it would shut off at 11PM each night, which is very unreasonable since I work until that time often at my job.

I have tried talking to them about it, but no luck. So I'm going to try and see what I can do to fix it myself without them knowing.

So heres everything I know about the situation:

1) There are two computers in the household, one belonging to me and one belonging to my parents.

2) I am almost 100% sure the connection is being controlled from my parent's computer, as my old account on that computer was changed from Administrative to Limited, when I went into the connection properties it told me that certain features had been disabled.

3) I can actually get into my parent's accounts because they always use very obvious passwords.

So, do you think there is any possible way for me to alter this network shutdown to a more reasonable time? I am very certain that it is all done from home and without really needing Shaw's help. Since the fellow from Shaw came they changed the time it went down once by themselves.

Any Help is appreciated.

Edit: "Shaw" is a Canadian Internet service provider, just thought I'd mention that in case there was any confusion.

Perhaps, but if you're actually paying to live here I would think one should have some say in things.

Re: Having issues with network connection settings

That's true, That's also not for a forum to decide. I honestly think that should be kept confidential between you and your parents. I'm not an admin or anything here. Try private messaging me.

Re: Having issues with network connection settings

I'm going to close this one. You'll have to work this out with your parents.
