[SOLVED] Wireless mini card sees networks but won't connect

Hi, I have just joined this group, hope someone can help. I have a Acer aspire 5040 laptop duel booting to XP & Vista. My problem is I cant connect to my to my router via my Atheros ar5005g wireless card when booting to Vista, Everything works fine when I boot to XP.
The laptop will connect with Vista when I connect to the router via cat5 cable. I have tried deleting the the wireless card & updating the driver but all to no avail.. Don't what I'm missing but cant seem to solve this problem, hope someone has the answer. Regards Ben.

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

Start, Run, devmgmt.msc

Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed. Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?

I have no Devices with a yellow ?
every thing I check says this device is working properly.
Under Network adapters I have listed:

Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter
Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Thanks for your help, but pleased to say I have now resolved my problem, Downloaded and Installed Launch Manager from Acer website. This turns on wireless networking by default. Without this the button on the front had no effect. Hope this may help anyone else who updates an Acer PC.
