The ACL challange
We have a school requirement that each teacher has a class folder and under that folder a student folder where each student will create their own folder. The objective was to allow teachers complete access to all student folders but students can only see and access their folder and files.
Problem! This setup works great! Until the teacher opens a student's file, edits and saves it. For whatever reason the student ACL is removed from the file, which means the student can no longer see that file which is still in their folder. My setup is : Teacher folder Teacher full not inherited this folder and files Students group Read & Execute not inherited this folder and files Student Folder Teacher Modify not inherited this folder subfolders and files Creator Owner Full not inherited subfolders and files Student Group Special not inherited this folder list read Create Write Read Permissions |
