Internet doesn't work correctly through router
I seem to having trouble with my network, i have to computers that are both connected to a eTec AP Router (all which are ethernet cable) and a ethernet cable coming from a scientific atlanta modem. (with ISP Virgin Media) One of my computers thats connected via ethernet works fine on the internet, can get on msn messenger etc. but my other computer i can view pages etc, but i get error code: 81000306 on windows live messenger, but if i have the ethernet cable coming off the modem and going directly into the computer instead of router live messenger works fine, also on the other computer (computer2) live messenger works fine, so i think something is not allowing the internet to go into computer1 properly, but also i have tried it with disabling firewall and allowing such applications to run past firewalls, but still doesn't seem to work. Live messenger isn't the only application that can't connect to internet, i also use sam broadcaster, which gives me error: Unable to send data fast enough. I have also followed steps from live messenger support and sam broadcaster, but still no joy. On my local area network on network connections it is set to obtain ip automatically. What could you suggest i do? Previously i was using usb cable from modem to computer but that appeared to disable the local area and my isp didn't recommend it! Also internet appears to be slow when its connected to router on computer1, but not on computer2!
Many Thanks Louis |

Re: Internet doesn't work correctly through router
On each of the computers, please do this:
Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Internet doesn't work correctly through router
Well, you have located it, now all you have to do is figure out the proper configuration for the firewall.
