[SOLVED] wifi Dead Spot? What blocks wifi signal?

OK so my wireless signal on my laptop was low in my room so i bought an antenna that is suppose to increase the range of my network but after hooking it up i see no change in my signal so now i believe there may be something blocking the signal or something does anyone no what would cause this.

Re: wifi Dead Spot? What blocks wifi signal?

first of all, try placing your laptop right next to your wireless router to make sure that its a signal problem.

What antenna did you purchase? was it a replacement for the one on your router?

as far as blocking your signal, it could be anything from walls to microwaves to wireless phones.

Did you try changing the channel on the router?

Yes, select a specific channel. Auto frequently just means regular disconnections.
