connection problems

Hello, i am having some trouble's with my modem... i think,
I'm here to see if it is the modem or something else, i will explain it best i can
I am on dial up and have a us robotics 56k fax modem i got it some time ago and ever since i did i have had troubles with internet.. It works perfectly some times but other times it kicks the connection and lags, it stops receiving data, i use to have a motorola modem it worked fine none of these problems, i fried it... i don't know if when it fried it messed something else on my computer up or if its just a real bad modem
if it is the modem maybe someone can tell me if i should just get a new one
or if i should try to fix this one..

Re: connection problems

My experience with USR modems has generally been very positive. Most of the time that I had issues with the calls, it turned out to be phone line quality.

There is no way to "fix" a modem nowadays, replacement is the only realistic option.

Re: connection problems

Sounds like a reasonable course of action.
