Mistake HELP!!! Ad-hoc wireless networking!

Ok... so heres the scene -
1. I have a desktop running Vista ultimate, with a broadcomm 54mbps wireless PCI card. This desktop also connects to the internet using a wi-max connection, which connects to my ethernet LAN card. Now, i am assigned an IP address autmatically by my ISP using DHCP.

2. I have a Macbook, running OSX 10.5 with airport extreme (wi-fi)

Now, i want to create a ad-hoc network, to basically enable internet sharing to the laptop. I tried to set it up myself, but failed miserably. Even if i manage to get both the machines connected, i cant seem to get Internet running on the macbook.

Can anybody help me on how to get this done??? A step by step guide would be really really appreciated!!!

Re: HELP!!! Ad-hoc wireless networking!

Hi.. thanks for the link.. i used this only to configure... but i am using Vista on my host, and the problem is, that when i create the ad-hoc network, and try connecting my macbook, it keeps saying unidentified network, and does not assign IP address to both the machines... the ip addresses are self assigned (168.xxx...)

HELP!!!

Re: HELP!!! Ad-hoc wireless networking!

I know nothing about the Mac and it's networking configuration, so I'm not sure what to suggest.
