New Router causes IE can't display page error

Hi,

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Replaced a DI-824VUP dlink router with DIR-655 dlink.

Old router was on the fritz, kept dropping our internet connection. However after the replacement, we keep getting a "IE can't disply this page" error. Then asks to run Internt diagnostic wizard. When i run the diag. it says no errors. Also, just clicking the referesh buttom immediately after the IE error page shows up causes the page to load with no problems.

The error page comes up 2 or 3 times every 10 clicks or so. Some sites seem more prone than others, but no real consistency. Have tried reboots, clearing temporary files, ect. Also fiddled with turing off all the router settings like QoS engine, and reducing the MTU. But no avail.

Each computer is using Windows XP and IE 7. About 13 computers. connected via ethernet via a Dlink swtich. Get the same issue when running wireless as well.

Strangely, when i use safari on a mac. i don't have this issue. yet on the same mac running IE 7 in a virtual machine produces the exact same error.

However, running safari on a win xp machine does create the same issue.

I'm pulling my hair out. Is it possible Win XP is incompatible with the DIR-655 router? (seems like an unreal possibility).

TIA

I'm pretty sure it's not incompatible with XP. :)

Sounds like your old problem still exists. Are you sure you don't have a problem elsewhere in the network?
