Arrow Wireless Connection

Hi
I have 3 computers in my house(one pc one laptop and a macbookpro) and i have a wireless connection.I have this wireless router modem (linksys wag200g)
In order to connect my mac to the network in wireless access tab i have the option "Permit only listed computers to access the wireless network"
and i have added my mac's airport id and all works fine.I have 100% access on my network.
With my laptop in order to connect i must choose in wireless access the option " Allow All ''.And i have noticed that people who live near me can access my internet connection.I want to stop this. Can you tell me what do i need to find so i can add my laptop to the permited list?

Thanks in advance.

Your Site has helped me many times and i really appreciate this.

Re: Wireless Connection

You need to enable encryption on the router. It would help if you gave us the make/model of the laptop.

I recommend WPA encryption if all the devices support it, it's much more secure than WEP.

the encryption keys.
When finished making your changes on this tab, click the Save Settings button to save these changes, or click
the Cancel Changes button to undo your changes.
WPA2-Personal. To use WPA2-Personal, select WPA2-Personal from the Security Mode drop-down menu. Select

Re: Wireless Connection

If you have WPA-TKIP with a strong random key, nobody is accessing your network that way without you giving them the key.

Re: Wireless Connection

First off, does your laptop support WPA? If so, you need to remove all the stored wireless profiles, search for wireless networks, and connect with a freshly created profile with the new WPA key.
