Another password headache

I don't know where this came from. Got the error that one machine can't transfer files to the other which had been working fine.

This is a peer network in Win2k-- just 2 machines.

it's a failure to logon the opposite machine to which the file is sent.

I don't understand this.

So to trace the error, where are all these passwords? I don't even install any if at all possible.

At setup I normally type one word for the name-- in this case Lon1machspeed and pass through the password.

What is the source machine (called lon2tyan) then looking for and how can it be straightened out? Where is the information?

I have never used an administrator mode and such. This looks like a related problem to another question I had on XP. The devices are looking for passwords that I'm oblivious of.

Re: Another password headache

I found where the users and passwords icon is in Control Panel.

However it is no help because I don't know what I'm looking for.

There is a secret key sequence to change password. I never used this and just saw it now.

So what's the problem?

There are options to clear users but I don't know if that is part of the answer.
