Speeding up my connection?
I am currently a college student, and like many others before me have a very slow connection. My brother has sped up his connection by using the Internet Option/LAN Settings to do so. He doesn't remember how he was able to do it so I am hoping someone on these fine forums will be able to do so. If there is no way to do it through that way, if you can name another way to do so that would be appreciated as well.
any help here would be appreciated![]() -Ryan |

Re: Speeding up my connection?
Hey Ryan,
There are many little things you could do, but in the end, it all comes down to your base connection. There is no way, for example, to get broadband speed from a dial up connection. So, even with the tweaks, the most you can expect would be a few kbps faster speeds. If you still feel like it, have a look at a program called TCPOptimizer. You could also 'speed up' firefox (a guide can be found in this forum), or if you use IE (You'll have to google around for that one) I don't know of any Internet Options that can speed up your connection, but then again, there are a lot of things I don't know. Hope this helps.
