[SOLVED] Re: Desktop can't access internet, but laptops can thru same router
Oh my God! man I'm having the same exact problem. I decided to go to a tech support forum and see if I could get help and was gonna create a thread about it but this is the same exact problem I'm having so let's just share threads lol. Anyways, I'm using the same modem it works for my laptop but not my desktop. I checked out my Local Area Connection status and there's a default gateway missing. Do I just put in numbers or what? It says I'm connected but I can't connect to anything. The thing is I just moved and got my cable set up and it works for my laptop but not my desktop and I need my desktop more than my laptop so if anyone can help me out PLEASE, thanks!

Re: Desktop can't access internet, but laptops can thru same router
Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.
I've created a new thread for your issue here. Note: You will need to post complete details of your configuration and your specific issue in this new thread for us to help you. Thanks for your cooperation.

Re: Desktop can't access internet, but laptops can thru same router
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.
Make and model of the broadband modem. Make and model of the router. Connection type, wired or wireless. If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2) Make/model of your computer. Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc. Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages. On any problem computer, I'd also like to see this: Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
