Mistake Untrusted Network?

I have Mcafee Free From AOL and when i try to go in to the tab that says Network Configuration it tells me that i am on an untrusted network and i cant configure my network till it is trusted. Then it gives me the option to trust my network? Should i trust my network for security reasons or should i leave it alone? I will never use that tab because i dont know what configuring networks is but do i need to trust the network for better security. WHat does it mean "untrusted Network" Is that dangerous?

Well, you said:

IMO, this is junk, and I've had more problems with Norton and McAfee integrated products than I ever had with malware.

Re: Untrusted Network?

Ok well i havent had any problems so far plus i have no money to buy any antivirus software for my compuer. So this is my only choice. And my question was what does it mean to have an untrusted network. Is it just my internet netowrk that i use to get online. IM just hoping that there arnt any programs on my computer that are conectiong to diff netorks and giving me viruses.

AVG Free costs $0.00, hard to imagine you can't afford that: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/
