Circumventor

I'm trying to get passed a school network that uses 8e6 Technologies' web filtering system. I've heard that Circumventor's do a good job of that so I did a quick search and came to this website:

But on the installing page ( http://www.peacefire.org/circumvento...tructions.html )
it says that other people kind of use your connection as well and stuff so I guess I'm asking, is this a good Circumventor and is it safe?
Any other recommendations that'd do the same job and/or better?
