Multiple Connections Being Blocked

Hi,

I'm trying to set up a closed wireless LAN at my Uni Halls for us to use for games. However I have a problem with the University's network. It seems to be able to detect when I am connected to a second network, in this case my wireless LAN, and disables the connection. I was wondering is there a way to possibly "hide" my wireless connection so that it couldn't be detected by the other connection or something along those lines?

I suggest you talk to the campus IT folks, I suspect they really don't want you to have wireless networks linked to the college network.
