[SOLVED] Lost Internet Connection

Okay, this is how the story goes. I was working on my client's PC (which is Windows Vista Home Premium), and while I have cleaned up most files with CCleaner, and ran a defrag with Auslogics Disk Defrag, I find that his connection has been lost. I really need help as this is one of my cases and I have tried everything including the 127.0.0.1 ping technique. I have pretty much done everything I could and I have pretty much got it down to his laptop being the problem. I have already taken out the Router and Modem from the issue so what would be my next step. Thanks Guys,

ANY help will be appreciated, Regards
Roman

Re: [SOLVED] Lost Internet Connection

Is this still a problem? Try this:

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows Vista.

Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.

Re: [SOLVED] Lost Internet Connection

Thanks Johnwill but the issue has been fixed. Wierdly just setting the Modem to standby for a minute and switching it back fixed the problem. Have any ideas on how this fixed it ?

I tend not to question magic!

Could be almost anything, don't look a gift horse in the mouth!
