I'm having some problems with setting up my wlan.

The problem is this i have a computer connected though a router and i installed a Belkin PCI card to have a wireless connection for my laptop, but the PCI adapter only looks for other wireless network and doesn't want to transmit.

How do i "persuade" it to transmit ??

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

Make and model of the broadband modem.
Make and model of the router.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Make/model of your computer.
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc.

Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

it's not an error, it's just that when i installed my Belkin PCI wlan card it automatically started searching for other wireless networks, and not acting as a wlan transmitter

Are you talking about creating an ad-hoc network connection? By default, wireless clients don't operate in infrastructure mode.
