Probs connecting to wireless network

I have just moved back home where they have an existing wireless network and am unable to connect in using my wireless hardware which I think is just an access point.
There router is a Billion 802.11g adsl2 (bipac 7300g) and my wireless ap is a Dlink DWL g700 ap. There are already 3 computers connecting to this network through internal wireless cards but I am pretty sure the router is a 4port. At least it has 4 ports in the back.
My pc is unable to find the wireless network at all when windows searches for it. I have even tried connecting a lan cable directly from the back of the router directly into my pc and it still cannot find it.
I was setup in a existing wireless network where I used to live but not sure if this would affect it at all. Have tried in vista and xp and nothing works. The pcs are in the same room so distance shouldn't be a factor. I just want to connect this for internet access and for lan with my younger brothers. Any help would be much appreciated as I have no real idea what I am doing

Read ur WiFi Mannual for extra port it is having or not!!!!1

Yeah it is a 4 port.

The router can connect to more than four machines, that's not the issue.

Let's see this:

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Thank you so much for your response. Have posted this problem on a lot of tech sites with no one even asking me anything to help the problem.

Let's work on the XP machine you posted. This one doesn't look like it's connected to anything. It also doesn't have any recognized wireless hardware!

Start, Run, devmgmt.msc

Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed. Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?

OK so no anythings with a ? or a !. And listed are a 1394 Net Adapter and a Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller

OK, so right now, that machine has no wireless hardware. Does this machine physically have a wireless adapter? Is this the one you connected the cable to and still couldn't get a connection?

Try this repair with the cable connection.

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.

Ok ran those 2 commands. And yes this is the pc with the Dlink ap connected to it. Its a bit strange that it isnt seeing the Dlink as at the place I have moved from I had no network problems. And as far as I can remember the person who set it up had no problems either even though he was hooking it up to a mac network.

I have no idea what happened, but I'd open it up and reseat the adapter as a start. Right now, the hardware is not being seen by Windows.

Reset the Dlink but still nothing. Am about to move house tomorrow so will just get the local network guy out to see if he can do anything. I know it can be difficult fixing things without being in front of it. Thank you for trying to help though when no one else would. Much appreciated.
