network permissions

Im trying to reslove a problem with connecting my computer to a common simple file sharing network using 10.100 switch and a router for connection to a cable modem.

On the file sharing network there are 4 computers, all appear to be configured the same, static IP addresses, they all can connect to the internet, but two of them cannot see the other computers on the net work

the meassage returned is that perhaps there is not permission please contact the network adinistrator - me

I have have confirmed

Computer names are unique
There are no conflits with IP addresses
I have used the winxp create network connection to reistablish without success

Internet gateway icon in network connections shows the connection as disabled , will return to disable after selecting enable, although the connection to the internet gate way remains funtional.

need to know how to add the two machine back to the file sharing workgroup

Thanks

Re: network permissions

Why are you complicating the issue using static IP addresses? Have you made SURE that the static IP addresses are outside the range of the router's DHCP pool? Do all of the machines access the Internet through the router successfully?

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

Make and model of the broadband modem.
Make and model of the router.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc.

I'd also like to see this for a working machine, and the non-working ones.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following two commands:

nbtstat -n

ipconfig /all

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
