Network Hell
I have a computer that will get on the network but not the internet.
I have checked everything I can think of! It is a win xp machine SP2…it has a static IP address that is not a duplicate on the network. I have tried both wireless and wired connections, two different switches, good known ports, even different cables. I have done the netsh winsock reset thing, I have reinstalled drivers, I have done everything I can think of. All the other machines are working on the network, both wired and wireless. My DNS pool is set to 199 and it’s below that. I can see everything on the network but cannot get on the internet! HELP ME PLEASE!! Are there any quick fix tools? Quick connect? Anything?? Help me I’m in network hell!! |

Re: Network Hell
do you have any other computers that are able to get on the internet? if so do a ipconfig /all and configure your static the same(subnet, default gateway, dns) but with a different ip... then in internet explorer click tools then options then connections then Lan settings, and make sure it is set to automatically detect lan settings, then click file and make sure that working offline is unchecked, and reopen internet explorer, and if it does not go to the homepage, try going to google.com or another website

Re: Network Hell
Try these simple tests.
Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: PING 216.109.112.135 Tell us the results. PING yahoo.com Tell us the results. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
