Linksys wrt55ag - no sign on
Hello...
Last night while trying to trouble shoot Vista to XP printer problems I decided to reset my wrt55ag router to "default" settings by using a paper clip to push the reset button. I had had the IP for the router set non-standard to avoid conflict with the new, non-wireless, linksys, voip gateway. When WRT powered back up I could no longer communicate with it. It is still "seen" by my laptop, and retains the same "name" that I had given it, but I can no longer log on to it to change or review settings. Anybody got a back door or a workaround to get back in? Can I FTP this thing? Thanks. Bill |

Re: Linksys wrt55ag - no sign on
Connect to the router with a wired connection.
Start, Run, CMD IPCONFIG The address of the default gateway is the router's web based setup address.

Re: Linksys wrt55ag - no sign on
How *&%#$ brain dead can one person be!? Duh!! Thanks! I actually got to the Linksys website and downloaded the manual and found that a "real" reset takes a 10 second "push". That got the router back to square one, but I wish I had thought of your solution last night. I didn't even get to check out the IPadd that it had somehow fallen in to. My laptop was only giving me 169's.
Appreciate the reply. Bill |
