DSS Questions
Hi everyone,
I am posting hoping that someone can help me with a couple of questions about the Darwin Streaming Server. I setup a DSS on a Mac OS X. Everything is running fine. Movies can be played on another computer by using the URL http://1.2.3.4/mymovie.mov. (where 1.2.3.4 is the mac's IP address) My questions are: 1) Is there a way to mask or hide the IP address? In other words, can I make it so that the client computer types in http://servername/mymovies.mov? 2) Is there a way to remotely transfer files to and from the mac? I have tried SSH and FTP by connecting to the hostname 1.2.3.4, but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to set this up? I know very little about DSS or servers in general so any help you could give I would be grateful for. |
