VPN Client?

Does anyone know of any good free VPN clients?

How about the one that comes with XP?

Setup Windows XP VPN client connection.

Go to Start / Settings / Network Connections
Start the New Connection Wizard
Select Connect to the network at my workplace
Click on the Next button.
Click on Virtual Private Network connection
Click on the Next button
Give the Connection a Name
Click on the Next button
If prompted, select whether or not you need to dial to the Internet before establishing a VPN connection.
Enter in the IP address of the server you want to connect to. This needs to be the external WAN IP address that is being used by the VPN Server. Not the LAN IP address of the VPN server.
Check whether you want to have an icon placed on the desktop and click on the Finish button.

You mean the IP address of the router?

How do I know what is the VPN Server? Is this just the computer address? what if there is no server, just a LAN? How do I access this?

Every VPN connection has two ends, what are you trying to connect to? That's the IP address in question.

Perhaps a refresher on what a VPN is would help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Private_Network

Is the confusion here that the router and server may be one-and-the-same? Our SonicWall, for example, handles the VPN connections as well as serving as the firewall and router.??
