Dreaming of a WPA christmas...

Hi all

I am a home user of a DLINK wireless modem which connects me to my ADSL2 (8m) connection to the web.
My single unit runs XP SP2 and the rest of my system vitals are below.
What i want to know is -

1. Is WEP security inferior to WPA? (ie. Is it realistically possible that someone could tap into my existing WEP network? And would WPA resolve this?)

2. I have the ASUS WLAN built into my P5B Del. and this seems like a pretty decent app, so should i choose this instead of allowing XP to run my wireless adaptor? Generally which is better?

3. Anyone know if wireless routers perform as good as wired ones in terms of latency? Im just wondering in a gaming environment where mS are crucial id like to know if this makes any difference

Cheers

Ian

Re: Dreaming of a WPA christmas...

WPA is VASTLY inferior to WPA. It's very possible to hack WEP, the tools exist all over the Internet to break into WEP in a few minutes.

If you use WPA with a long and random key 20 or more characters, random numbers and letters, you will be very secure with WPA.
