Wireless network intruder?
My small network is a mix or wireless and ethernet. I use WPA2 and MAC address filtering to allow only the few computers and printers that I own to connect, or so I believe. Today, I looked into the DLink DIR655 browser-based configuration, and under the status tab, saw all my known connected devices, and one unknown having an IP address I had never assigned, with a MAC address I did not have on my list. I pinged the unknown IP (192.168.0.192) and received a message that it could not access 192.168.0.198 which is one of my computers. What is going on?

Re: Wireless network intruder?
It's probably an old entry. If you have WPA2 with a long and random key, I can assure you that nobody you didn't give the key to hacked your wireless network.

Re: Wireless network intruder?
Thanks Johnwill - I'll consider that resolved even if I cannot get rid of it. Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I have a new concern - will post in the appropriate forum re; Outlook 2007 sending more mail than was in my outbox.

Re: Wireless network intruder?
You may have malware on the machine, I'd consider doing this:
Please follow this HJT Log 5 Step Process to post a HijackThis log in the HijackThis Log Help forum here.
