Cry Re: Verizon DSL to Dell Connection

Hi Matt,

I somewhat agree with you but I have a problem. The Westell 327 is a B90 model which means it has Verizon Software in it. Even with my laptop, I could see the log in screens and I had no problem with it connecting.

As for 192.168.1.1. It's great but I can't get into to it which is probably what your refering to. I tried using the Verizon login and also Admin login but it won't let me in.

With my laptop, I orginally ran the Verizon DSL software and it must have set it all up. It won't let me run the software because it can't see the internet. It says check your connections.

I can see the internet, I can download info but when it tries to go out and get info or get updates, it can't see the internet. Strange.

I do become frustrated because I can't even download my Mcafee VirusScan Online because it uses a download manager. Tough having no virus protection. I did download Registry Mechanic Spyware Doctor which I am licensed for.

Thanks for your assistance

Re: Verizon DSL to Dell Connection

The default username on the 327w is admin and the default password is password. If it's not those, and your Verizon account info doesn't work (be sure to try username@verizon.net), you can hit the reset button on the back and reset it. You should then be able to use the web interface at 192.168.1.1 to setup the connection to Verizon.

Check out ch. 7 of this guide for how to setup the connection from the 327w once you can log into it. http://onlinehelp.verizon.net/consum...yUserGuide.pdf

Re: Verizon DSL to Dell Connection

Thanks Matt,

I did get in before I read this by using Admin and password and I now have my own pass word set up.

I did set up the Account but I will go back and read the manual to make sure I have everything set. It will take a few days. At least by the time I get through, I'll feel more confident the Modem is setup correctly.

I appreciate the help. Thanks

Re: Verizon DSL to Dell Connection

Hi Matt,

Thanks to the documentation, it logs without PPPO. I really hadn't saved the account I put in.

I still have the same problem going out. I have attached a few tests.

I pinged 192.168.1.1 from Command Line and got an Error 5. See attached. I also ran the diagnostics from the 327W and it failed. See attached.

I ran Hijackthis and have attached the list of programs in memory. I repair the Winsock Catalog and it get corrupted immediately. Some program has to be corrupting it. But which one?

Thanks for your help
