[SOLVED] Can't set proxy to automatically detect connections. (Moved from IE)
I'm looking at a dell that I just got the wireless running on, now no matter how many times I tell it to automatically detect the connection and not use a proxy, it changes the setting. In tools, options, connections, LAN I can check the automatically detect box, but when I return it has been removed and the proxy address is back and checked. Running IE6 - I saw a blurb about this type of problem with ie7 but not 6.

Re: Can't set proxy to automatically detect connections.
Hi and welcome to TSF.
Your query would be better answered in Networking so I'll move it there.

Re: Can't set proxy to automatically detect connections. (Moved from IE)
After chasing many potential ghosts - I have found that the gentlemans daughter had installed GHOSTSURF and it was running. After removing it, the system connects just fine. (Not quite sure how surfing annonomously does any good if you can't get on in the first place) Thanks for the forum.
