Network Monitoring tools

Im just looking for a simple tool that will essentially ping the servers on our network and alert us if they are down. Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be really great if there were a utility that could send out a sms text or ring our cell phone, im just having a hard time finding anything. Thanks for any ideas.

Whats up gold... We have it here at the bank i work at and it monitors all servers and pages or texts or emails ours does all of the above if something goes down..

Do you know what is used to send the call to the cell? Just a regular GSM modem or what? It looks like the Whats up software doesnt integrate that part into it.

we have just a regular gsm sending our stuff out and it works great...
