Laptop unable to connect to wireless network
I sure hope this is a quick/easy fix...
I just bought a Netgear MIMO wireless router. My Toshiba laptop works fine when connected to the DSL modem via ethernet cord. Even when I installed the router and am connected to the DSL through the wireless router via ethernet cord, the internet works (which is how I am currently connected). However, if I remove the ethernet cord and attempt to connect wirelessly, I run into problems. The integrated 802.11b Wi-Fi card detects the secured network, but when I click "connect", I get the following message: "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again" What additional info do you need from me to solve this issue? Thanks in advance, Brandon |

Re: Laptop unable to connect to wireless network
How is the network secured, WEP or WPA? If it's WEP, you MUST use the HEX keys, not the passcode option. Also, you might try disabling encryption to see if you can connect that way.

Re: Laptop unable to connect to wireless network
Its WPA. I'll try disabling encryption when I get home from work. I also haven't been able to see if my work laptop will connect yet, but I'll be trying that when I get home too.
