Wireless Adaptor won't search...
Hi
I've got a laptop running Windows XP, and recently, I've come across a problem with its built in wireless adaptor. After using the internet for 10-60mins, this error messages comes up: ![]() Which kinda threw me (any info on that program?) Then after that the network disconnects and when I check the built in adaptor.... ![]() ![]() I don't use anything apart from the built in adaptor, used to use an old Belkin one, but uninstalled that last year. Are the two errors even related? Any help please? Thanks in advance ![]() |

Re: Wireless Adaptor won't search...
Hard to say. I'd uninstall any trace of the Belkin software. I'm guessing the other error is something totally different. Are you using a wired or wireless connection to access the network?

Re: Wireless Adaptor won't search...
I've checked, and there's not trace of the Belkin softaware (If I remeber rightly, I re-installed windows after I removed the Belkin software - this is about a year ago). And I'm connected to the network wirelessly

Re: Wireless Adaptor won't search...
The first thing I would do is to search for updated drivers for your wireless NIC - once you have updated the drivers, see if the problem still exists.

Re: Wireless Adaptor won't search...
OK, dowloaded the new drivers last night, been almost 24hrs, and no problem
![]() Thank you ![]() Only thing that confuses me, is the drivers I dowloaded and installed (didn't realise this until I did it) were older than the drivers I had ![]() But works fine, thanks again ![]() |

Re: Wireless Adaptor won't search...
Well, we won't fool around with a working configuration.

Re: Wireless Adaptor won't search...
I so hate to "unsolve" a problem, but if you insist.
![]() Next time you get the error, click on the link to see what the error report contains, I'd like to see that info.

Re: Wireless Adaptor won't search...
Well, this is a HP laptop, and the only HP products I have is a (currently disconnected and rarely used) printer, and I think the wirless adaptor is HP - but I can't see how I can "disconnect" something thats built in...
Idea just thought of - I think there was a CD of drivers that came with this a couple of years ago will search for it - would that work, if I found the wireless adaptor driver on there? |

Re: Wireless Adaptor won't search...
Can't hurt, though I'd download the latest version from the laptop manufacturer's site.
