Enabling IP Routing on a webstar modem
How do I enable IP Routing on the Webstar Router by Sientific-Atlanta, inc. All was fine and then one day my internet stopped working. I can connect to the internet by just the modem itself. I tryed using a brand new router but it doesn't work. I did cmd/ ipconfig /all and it says IP Routing enabled: ...No. Any Idea's as to the fix???

Re: Enabling IP Routing on a webstar modem
You don't need to enable any routing to use a broadband router. You need to disable ICS for use with a broadband router, not enable it.
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please. The name of your ISP and country of residence. Make/model of the broadband modem. If dial-up, please specify. Make/model of the router (if any). Connection type, wired, wireless. If wireless, encryption used, (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.) Make/model of network card or wireless adapter. Make/model of your computer (motherboard if home-built). Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc. Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

Re: Enabling IP Routing on a webstar modem
Let's see this:
Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Enabling IP Routing on a webstar modem
Is that connected to the router? You have a public IP address there. I'm going to guess this is the modem we're looking at. Let's try to get a router working.
Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on.
When the computer is completely booted, let's see this.
