Im in a printing factory thats networked. there are three computers, two external hard drives, and three printers.
they were all networked until i installed vista. now everything is still networked besides the printers. the printers are there but i cant access or use them. i'll give you some screenshots to help explain. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...terprntscr.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...tallissues.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t.../memmorybs.jpg thank you. |

Re: vista-printer sharing
How does installing Vista affect the printers? How about the exact details of the total topology of the network, make/model of any networking equipment, exactly how the printers are connected and to what, etc. Is the Vista machine a new machine, or an installation on an existing machine?

Re: vista-printer sharing
Was this a clean install or an upgrade? I also need to know about all of the network.
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please. Make/model of the broadband modem. If dial-up, please specify. Make/model of the router (if any). Connection type, wired, wireless. If wireless, encryption used, (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.) Make/model of network card or wireless adapter. Make/model of your computer (motherboard if home-built). Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc. Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

Re: vista-printer sharing
it was a clean install. i was previously running 2000, so it didnt let me upgrade.
the it is NOT a wireless network. i dont know much about the rest, but this should do it. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...uc/allinfo.jpg (im not posting the images, because it will stretch the page. the error messages are in my first post. i hope this will be enough. |
