[SOLVED] cannot log into router setup page
After Birdging my "modem" and switching my router to PPPoE in order to get my Xbox LIVE to work, everything seemed to be going smooth. All comps could borwse the internet, and I could play my game on xbox LIVE.
Then someone told me that having my 360 IP in the Static DNS slot on my router is actually hurting my connection to XBL, so I go to log in to change that, and now whenever I enter: 192.168.2.1 into my web browser, it just comes up with this: (see pic) and this is on both comps it does this!! This is bad!! I cannot even change anything in my router now!! And I tried power down the router and turn it back on, and that did not fix it |

Re: cannot log into router setup page
pinging 192.168.2.1 on both comps results in a request imed out.
Did the ipconfig thing, and says the default gateway is 192.168.1.1 pinged it on both comps, and get a 1ms response time. Yet I get the same thing as the image I posted when I try to use that IP to get to my router homepage! |

Re: cannot log into router setup page
looked at the back of my router and noticed that I accidentally plugged the DSL modem into the port 1 instead of into the internet spot.
Funny thing is when I plugged it to where it was supposed to be then all comps lost internet!!!! ***!!! pluged it back into the wrong spot in port 1, and now the main comp has internet again. I should also say when I switched it back into the proper spot I was able to log onto the linksys router page, and once again cannot when I put it bakc in the worng spot. And now my comp that receives the wireless singal says it cannot communicate with primary DNS server 192.168.1.1!! resetting the wireless adapter option does not work either! Re: cannot log into router setup page
nevermind I finally got everything back working. At one point I could not log into the router, internet, modem, or ping any IP form any computer in the house!!
I just unplugged everything and set everything to factory reset |

Re: cannot log into router setup page
When you bridge a modem/router, that disables the WEB interface. It appears you discovered that.
