Hello!
Using the wizard from Network connection, I configured the VPN connection using 56k modem & Land line at my Pc and the Incomming Connection to my friends pc. I dialed my friends PC using his phone no. (not via internet) and also connect successfully. The notification Icon displays in the system tray. But then we can't browse or share our folders/ drives with each other. Using the netmeeting program we can chat, also send & receive files, with video confference but speed is very slow than the 56 k dialup Internet. Please suggest the right configuration to increase the spped and browse. Thanking you. |

Re: VPN - Virtual Private Networking
There is no configuration to increase the speed, welcome to the world of dial-up connections.

Re: VPN - Virtual Private Networking
Sharing files over dial-up is an exercise in patience. Unless you wait for a long time, you won't even know if it's working. Quite frankly, I don' think this is practical using dial-up and VPN. There is so much overhead in the VPN and the SMB protocol, it just isn't going to happen.
Using something like Net Meeting or other file transfer applications is probably going to be the answer, as you seem to have already found out.
