Linksys Wireless VS wireless Zero config.(from hardware)
Hi, Ive been having a pretty annoying issue lately.
Recently I have come to the conclusion that my internal wireless card in my laptop ( windows XP ) fails. It just doesnt cut it. It disconnects constantly and makes it impossible to do anything like online gaming. So I tried using a linksys USB wireless adapter ( WUSB54G v 4 ) A lo and behold it works excelently, almost as good as ethernet. One problem: Even though I only installed the drivers and not the actuall linksys wireless configuration utility, Linksys seems to want to permanantly disable Wireless Zero config Upon restarting windows. It also had a battle with my internal wireless card that resulted in not even being able to access netwrok connections and locking my computer up ( resolved by restarting windows and disabling my internal wireless ) But the problem persists: WZC is being locked down by linksys. And I want absoultly nothing to do with the linksys wireless client. I dont even know what it looks like. i didnt even install it I just directly got the driver from online at linksys's website and manually installed it. So any ideas on how to stop this linksys from being Nazi like on my wireless service ? Install/reinstalling drivers does not work. Starting WZC in services.msc doesnt work either. |

Re: Linksys Wireless VS wireless Zero config.(from hardware)
I'd suggest an email to Linksys tech support. Without seeing this and tinkering with the actual configuration in question, it's hard to point to a place to look...
I presume you configured the WZC service to be Automatic, right?
