Problem with downloading bigger files
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but anyways, here goes.
I'm having a problem downloading bigger sized files (even ones as small as 5MB files). What happens is I'm downloading the file, and about 50-75% into the download, it stops, the status (example: 3.9 of 8.8 at 62KB/sec; 01:36 remain) stays the same, but the status never actually makes any progress (example: 3.9 of 8.8 at 62KB/sec; 01:36 remain stays exactly the same). TruVector doesn't show any traffic. This problem seems to go away the 2nd or 3rd time I try to download the file, but I would really like to just be able to download files the first time. Any hints and suggestions would be much appreciated! I am very willing to try anything.... ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks |

Re: Problem with downloading bigger files
Register at DSLReports and run their line quality tests. Post a link to the results here.

Re: Problem with downloading bigger files
Is it ok to do the test without being able to be pinged? Because I can't get access to my neighbor's router (which is how i'm getting internet right now), I can't allow pinging...
I'll attach the report of the scan I'm doing right now... ![]() Last edited by Purkinje : 09-07-2007 at 06:17 PM. |

Re: Problem with downloading bigger files
Please note that we can't help with issues that involve using someone else's broadband service. Even if you have permission, the terms of service for the broadband account make this an illegal activity. I suggest you obtain your own service, then we can help you.
