modems
I found out that the thing our internet service provider gave to us was actually an ADSL router, and not a modem. For 3 years I did not know of this, and so I have a double NAT (I have a linksys wireless connection with a wireless router)
Anyways, what are good ADSL modems that I can buy to replace this zyxel router? I think that if I can just do this thna all my networking woes will go away forever. Also can I even replace a thing that the service provider gave us and activated? I don't know the rules behind that. Dunno if you can switch to a new modem without telling them or whatever. Anways, linksys would be the preferred brand but looking on newegg there was only 1 product that came up in a search for linksys modems. do they really only have 1 modem? and is it ADSL? |

Re: modems
Why not just configure the ZyXEL in bridge mode to make it into a plain modem, problem solved!
