Re: Changing My Internet IP Address

It appears that you are trying to change the WAN side of either your Router, or the Modem. Either/ or should be assigned by your ISP. What are you trying to accomplish by changing it?

Re: Changing My Internet IP Address

Iam trying to change it to enable myself back onto a forum i was using,my pal blocked me as a joke which i expected to last half an hour at most and he jetted off to dubai for a month and forgot all about it.

Iam ment to be keeping watch of the forum while he is away, proxy servers are no use as they dont let you into the Admin CP.

Re: Changing My Internet IP Address

you will have to call your ISP to give you another, and they will have to change it on the Modem, that is of course you have access to the modem. either way you have to get a hold of them to assign a new one to you

Re: Changing My Internet IP Address

If you just unplug your modem for 30 seconds or so then plug it back in, you may get a new IP.

Re: Changing My Internet IP Address

Actually, to have any chance at getting a new IP address, you need to disconnect for at least the DHCP lease time.

Re: Changing My Internet IP Address

You can either turn your modem off overnight (which you said didn't work), or try this maybe:

START menu -> Run -> type "cmd"... At the prompt, type in ipconfig/release .. Then go to Control Panel -> Network Connections .. Right click your Connection, select "properties".. Click Protocol (TCP/IP) and select "properties".. Select "Use the following IP" and type "111.111" then tab over to fill subnet mask data. OK and close. Once more, right click your Local Area Connection, click TCP/IP and go to properties. Select radios "Obtain IP Address Automatically" and "Obtain DNS Server Automatically". Click OK and close. Check your IP now.

You should have a changed IP address.

Mod edit: Remove advertising link.
