Re: HDD Sharing question
In the username and password field you must write the credentials of the pc you want to connect to. However, below these fields there is an option which is called remember the password. Just click on it and you won't have to type the pass everytime you want to connect until of course you change the credentials.
Also, as far as i know ypu can stop this dialog box popping up by editing registry or by applying a group policy. (Supposing you are the Admin) Google it and you will find plenty of this. Post results. Regards Last edited by Anemos; 08-13-2007 at 05:16 AM. |

Re: HDD Sharing question
He is correct ... For password dialog box type in the computer name of the pc that you would like to browse .... with a blank password.... check remember the password...
some registry hacks and group policy changes can be made to completely disable the dialog box .... but will explain later .. plz try this 1st

Re: HDD Sharing question
Actually, you should have passwords on all the machines, which makes networking across different versions of Windows easier. Then, create an account on the machine with the shared resources with the same name/password as the connecting machines. The password prompts will be gone.
