Google didn't help my networking problem!
Ok, so here's the deal. I'm running a pretty solid Toshiba Satellite. My network adaptors are as follows:
1394 Net Adapter Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Conncetion Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection I've never had problems connecting before. I have a wireless adapter set up in my house and have connected to it hundreds of times until last night. I would connect and it would stay connected for a few minutes then just abrubtly cut out. I'd restart the computer and the process would repeat. Well this morning it refuses to connect at all. I have the full 5 bars as far as signal strength goes on my Intel Proset/Wireless connector but when I try to connect it says: Connecting to ________ followed by Unable to connect to ________ It never tries to obtain an IP address even though it's supposed to select it automatically. The internet and router are working fine as other laptops in the house are able to connect with ease. I've tried resetting my router and connection in general to see if the connection cleared up but so far no luck. ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated. (By the way, I'm kinda gonna need step by step instructions as I'm not at all familiar with the computer vernacular.) |

Re: Google didn't help my networking problem!
When you set up your router, did you setup any security on them (encryption, MAC filtering)?
What OS is the laptop running?

Re: Google didn't help my networking problem!
I did not set up any extra encryption or filtering. The only thing that's on it is a password. I erased the profile from my computer and tried to connect. I WAS prompted for the password which was typed in correctly but it still didn't work. I'm running XP.

Re: Google didn't help my networking problem!
Have you tried repairing the connection? If that doesn't work, at what point does the repair fail?
