Re: Weak Connection
The first thing I'd try is to isolate the issue to the router or the computer. If this is a laptop, does it work normally at a WiFi hotspot or on a friend's wireless network? Can you bring a friend's laptop over and see if it exhibits the same issue? The purpose here it to determine if it's the router or the computer.

Re: Weak Connection
Hi again John! I'll get right on taking over to a different access point.
On a side note I went to speakeasy.net and ran a speed test at work. Here were the results. Last Result: Download Speed: 75247 kbps (9405.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 17660 kbps (2207.5 KB/sec transfer rate) Holy Cow right? Univeristy of Iowa knows how to roll lol |

Re: Weak Connection
Yep, makes my 15mbit connection look pretty pathetic.
Of course, I don't share mine with anyone. ![]()

Re: Weak Connection
Yeah John it looks like it is a problem with the laptop. I'm still only getting 60% max even right next to the router. It may be a little complicated because I updated a Windows XP computer to a Windows Vista computer and maybe the software isn't completely compatable. I don't know.

Re: Weak Connection
I think this may well be a driver issue. I know that different drivers can really affect the signal strength. Another thing that seems to do it is some forms of encryption. Have you tried disabling encryption to see if that changes the symptoms?
