Loss of internet connection

Hi,

My problem is similar to someone elses on this forum where I have a desktop and a laptop and I use a wireless router to have internet on both my desktop and laptop. My laptop (Acer aspire 1640) keeps losing internet connection while my desktop connection is fine. Any ideas why this happens. It happens like every minute or every 5 or 10 minutes. please help its so frustrating. When I use an ethernet cable to connect from the router to the laptop it works perfectly. I am a novice when it comes to PC's, so please make your replys as simple as possible.
Many thanks,

Re: Loss of internet connection

First thing to do is download the latest drivers for that Intel adapter, they don't work well with older drivers. See if that helps with the disconnects.

I'd also try unencrypted as a test and see if encryption is affecting the stability.

Re: Loss of internet connection

You access the router's setup screen and configure it in the wireless section.
