Implemeting a NAS Device with Backup Facility

Hi all

I am writing a report for my manager on the possible imlpementation of a NAS solution for our data storage requirements.

I have found the LaCie 1TB Ethernet Disk (the rack mountable one with embedded MS XP), which appears to meet our needs.

I am struggling to marry the LaCie NAS to a suitable backup solution. Their documentation provides details of EMC Retrospect 7.5, which has loads of impressive features. I do not want to publish these features in my report, as we do not currently have any form of Windows Server or SBS, and I am unsure whether this solution will work on our network.

The primary task of the report is a NAS Device with attached DTO tape drive backup solution. The information stored on the NAS drive must be accessible through a normal windows browser, not software built in with the device.

Has anyone got any ideas?
