Strange networking problem
Hi I have a really weird problem..
I used to use a linksys wireless router, but recently I bought a D-link Rangebooster N650 router. I connected everything up, and two desktops connected through cables, and my laptop through wireless were all connected and accessing the internet. After a while, my laptop disconnected, and it wouldn't detect any wireless networks nearby. After a lot of attempts of reconnecting, I disconnected the router, and set it up again, and my laptop worked again. 5 minutes later, it again was unable to detect any networks... It seems that whenever I reset the router, my laptop gets connected to the network for 5 minutes. I'm using a Rangebooster N650 Router from D-link, and my laptop is an Acer 5672 running Vista home premium. Please help, any suggestions welcome. |

Re: Strange networking problem
Try resseting both the Modem and router. Shut power off to both, wait a few minutes. Power up the modem first (wait a few minutes), then power up the router (again wait a few minutes) then let us know what happens (Do not use the reset switches, take and remove the power supplies)

Try this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936211 It discribes network connectivity issues with VISTA In the mean time I will try to see if D-link can come up with anything |

Re: Strange networking problem
Did you reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure? That sometimes sorts out issues like this.
