Deleting a local area network.
Hey guys (and gals) I am helping my dad out with some of his computer work for his office and he is currently having local area network issues. He had a lady come over several months ago to set up a network for his office so that he and my brother-in-law could share files. However, for some reason, (you all probably know exactly why) both computers are running EXTREMELY slow ever since the network has been activated. So my question is simple (I think), how can I get rid of the network? Is it the sort of thing where I can just disable the network and everything will be fine, or do I have to go through and completely delete the network? Thanks for the help!!

Re: Deleting a local area network.
I can't imagine this is the fault of the network components, since millions of machines run fine with networking, this one included.
I'm guessing you have some malware on the system now, which is causing the slowdowns.

Re: Deleting a local area network.
Yeah I thought that it sounded kinda wierd the network would slow down a computer, but my dad said that the computer problems started immediately after creating the network. He wants to delete the network anyways though, the secondary is an old POS emachine and sucked before the problems started.

Re: Deleting a local area network.
Well, you can simply go into network properties and uninstall everything but TCP/IP protocol, but it won't help the speed.
