[SOLVED] Connected to Wireless Network, yet nothing loads...

Ok, here's my problem, and a little background...

There are 2 desktop computers, and 2 laptops in our house, all of which have used a wireless internet connection to our router, which is hard-wired to our first desktop PC (I'll call it PC #1). I use PC #2, the other desktop computer. Both laptops came with the proper internal whatevers to connect to the network, and my desktop, PC #2, came with a Dell Wireless 1450 Wireless USB Adapter, that connects through the USB port.

Now, I've had this equipment for well over a year, and its always worked fine.

Recently, though, I purchased AVG Anti-Virus, and it has never given me any problems. I've run complete scans, and deleted all my viruses and spyware many times, but after a long stint of not running it, we (this, PC #2, is shared) collected a good amount of viruses and spyware, to the point where it was seriously hindering the computer's performance.

So, I ran AVG, and got rid of all of the junk, and then, for some reason, my wireless card reported that I had "Limited, or No Connectivity."

I eventually worked that out, and now it says I'm connected, with all the numbers as they were before, BUT, none of the programs I have that connect to the internet seem to, well, connect. FireFox, Internet Explorer and Thunderbird won't load anything, as if I didn't have a connection.

So, I tried replacing all the crap files. Result? Still the same, but with the crap all back.

Then, I re-deleted all the crap files, and tried a System Restore. Now, for some reason, there's no restore points, except for the past couple days. I've tried every last one of them, but when the PC restarts afterwards, it says System Restore has failed, and I'm back at square one.

I've tried un- and re-installing the software and hardware that was provided with the USB Wireless card, with, again, the same result.

I've even tried to connect to other wireless networks within range (which I was doing merely as a control), and it still says I'm connected, yet nothing will work right.

What could possibly be the issue? The other computers on our network don't have any problems.

Any help is MUCH appreciated, as borrowing one of these laptops everytime I want to use the web is aggravating on many levels.

Thanks.

Re: Connected to Wireless Network, yet nothing loads...

Ok, even though this is technically a "bump," its not me asking "Anyone?" :P

Its me, being proud, that I lucked into a solution.

Yes, folks, the problem is solved. After searching this section more thoroughly, I tried every solution even remotely related to my issue, and found one, provided by johnwill, (big surprise, after seeing his amount of helping posts).

Here's what finally did it:
Loss of internet on Wireless. Very good signal strength.

Reboot the machine.

Thanks alot, and sorry for asking for a solution that ended with something that was already said. :P

Now, onto my other PC issues...;)
