[SOLVED] Recommendations on a good wireless ADSL2 modem/router?
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good wireless ADSL2 modem/router. My local ISP in Australia (Telstra Bigpond) is about to change their wireless modems to a brand called 2wire. Does anyone know whether these are any good? Otherwise I was told that Linksys are good! Does anyone have any thoughts/opinions on either or both of these? Which models and/or makes are good. Ideally, all I will be doing is hooking up one computer wirelessly but that may change in the future. I just want something that will for the most part be reliable and safe. Cheers and thanks for your thoughts!! Aaron |

Re: Recommendations on a good wireless ADSL2 modem/router?
Hi Aaron,
![]() I would stick to the modem your ISP gives you. This way, they will back it up if anything happens to it. As for the router, I have had good luck with Linksys (I like their router configuration GUI the best), Netgear, D-link, and Belkin. Depending on the wireless devices you will be connecting and the amount of LAN transfers you will be making, you may want to look at different speed routers. One thing to remember: read reviews before you buy!
